Sooo, my first procrastinating project in Greece! On Friday I have a mid-term exam and I just can’t get myself to look into the stuff. I already tidied up my stuff, made notes about what I have to do and was thinking about what I don’t need here anymore and can take back to Finland when I go there at Easter. Now I decided to write a bit here but then it’s really time!
The thing is that I should really not screw this up because it sounds so easy! The teacher gave us 4 essay questions already and from those four, two will be on the exam. So basically we know the questions, it can’t get any easier than that!
My weekend was really nice. On Sunday I went for that bike trip and it was great. It was 40km long which scared away most of the people but it was the easiest 40 km of my life!:P The organizers’ aim is to promote biking since it is not that popular here, and since people don’t bike here, you have to keep it easy. The people were very nice, the weather was perfect, around 20 C but very sunny (I got sooo burnt even though I used sun lotion), out of Thessaloniki in small roads. And it was very cheap, only 10 euros (5 for participation, 5 for bike rental). They organize trips often and today they already sent us the details of the next trip. It seems that the place they are going is very pretty but it’s a bit further away, therefore they have to rent a bus to take us there and this makes it more expensive. It’s 25e + 5e for bike rental this time. I will see later if I go or not. The place sounds very nice, but it’s a bit pricey and it might be a bit rainy that day.
Today finally I managed to meet Iliana, one of the girls who was in Jyväskylä on exchange last year. It was very nice to talk with her. I always enjoy really much chatting with Greeks and I hope I can spend more time with them.
Today also the travel issues concerning the Turkey trip are resolved. My flights are booked from Helsinki to Antalya and from Antalya to Istanbul. From Istanbul I will need to take a bus to Thessaloniki but I already visited the travel agency that deals with these trips and I now know that every day they have 3 buses coming to Thessaloniki. Haven’t booked a ticket yet, I’m still hoping that maybe someone would join me for 2 days in Istanbul. If not, I will just come back straight after the training. I wouldn’t want to be in Istanbul alone.
Oh yeah, and today morning I finally put some pictures to Facebook. There are a some about Thessaloniki, some about Edessa and some about the people here/dormlife. I really don’t take many pictures here but I’ll try to remember to take more photos about the university and the dorm.
I guess now it’s time!:/
